Hello Nairalanders. I would like some advice from the Benz enthusiasts on this platform.

I want to change my car and my budget is in the price range for a Tokunbo 2013 Benz GL450 or ML350. I'd like some advice on which is the better car.

Most people I asked said the GL is problematic, although they couldn't say exactly why. They also said that the GL does not have as good a resale value as the ML.

My mechanic who also specialises in Benz repairs says that the GL has a poor reputation in Nigeria because it uses an air suspension which used to be extremely expensive to replace, though the price has now come down substantially. He says that apart from the air suspension issue which is no longer a big problem, he is not aware of any major issue with the 2013 GL.

I would prefer the bigger GL because it has more room and better ground clearance but I don't want a car that will give me plenty problems.

I would appreciate your advice.

Actually, any advice towards getting the GL is what ur body and soul is waiting for and anything otherwise, u will find reason to counter it or request for more information.

Bottom line. Go for the GL. Maintain and care for it. That’s your heart desire. If u get the ML, ur mind will always skip whenever you see GL passing or see a post about it on this forum.

I always smile whenever people do this on here. Life is too short, just buy what you want. If it breaks you'll sort it out.

I hear you, but with the prices of cars these days, one has to research well before buying. The 2013 GL has low reliability scores online and I just wanted to hear the firsthand experience of people who have used them n Nigeria. I can't find that info anywhere.
