#1 is an urban legend. Deleting cookies has no effect on the cost. Instead, the cost of tickets is based on availability at any point in time.

I once had a very unsuccessful ticket booking. In general, it so happened that I flew to my friend's wedding in Italy. Everything was fine, but we had so much fun until the morning of the next day that I only realized in the morning that I bought a ticket for the very next day after the wedding and not for the day after tomorrow.
