✍� Cancer! The menace that has taken millions of loved ones from their families and many others have fought bravely and prevailed!.


Cancer continues to be one of the worlds leading causes of death, despite the years of research. This is not to connote that the years spent in research have been futile as I still believe that this menace will soon be eradicated forever.




According to the WHO, 30% - 50% of cancers can be prevented by avoiding risk factors and implementing existing evidence-based prevention strategies, and one of these measures includes vaccination against the HPV Virus.

World Cancer Day is observed annually on February 4 to raise awareness about non-communicable disease, the second leading cause of death globally.


The year's THEME is "Close The Care Gap."

Let us, therefore, nudge on the government to bridge the inequalities and inequities between the High, Low-income countries with cancer patients.



Comprehensive treatment is reportedly available in more than 90% of high-income countries but less than 15% of low-income countries.


Let us also strive to see that the level of care accorded to Adult cancer patients is also accorded to the "CHILD" cancer patient.

Cancer is preventable and curable, however, not without awareness, resources, and expertise.


Please include regular yearly smear tests and mammograms as prevention is usually the best option. Early detection is key to surviving this.


Together we can beat cancer hands down.
