Third place in the Africa Cup of Nations is up for grabs today as hosts Cameroon take on Burkina Faso in Yaounde.

A gruelling penalty shootout defeat against seven-time champions Egypt ended their hopes of a title on home soil and they will be back in action just 48 hours later in Yaounde.

That is because CAF moved this game forward a day, having originally scheduled it for Sunday afternoon.

Burkina Faso’s wait for an AFCON crown goes on after losing to Senegal in the semis but they can replicate their third-place finish in 2017 by defeating Cameroon.

How Egypt got to final is still baffling but our team who beat them crashed out. Our players lack discipline. I knew with the way they were going, they'd not go far. When I first posted this at the earlier stage, someone attacked me but I had envisaged what would happen. We don't seem to learn from the past.

Again, until politics and tribalism are disregarded when choosing players that make up our national team, we'd always end up this way. Some of those guys paid millions to secure that Jersey, just to create an avenue for themselves to be seen and bought by great clubs. Smh!

Burkina Faso would probably be in a better frame of mind than Cameroon for this match. That loss to Egypt was very demoralising.
But then Cameroon as hosts will not like to end up empty handed without a Bronze medal.
Let's see how it goes.
