Success in football transcends beyond sport; It gives a nation pedigree; It is a testament that hardwork still pays. In fact, it is the only event that unites the world. My biggest congratulations goes to Aliou Cisse, a real patriot whose passion is for his country. He also proved people like Gernot Rohr wrong. It is passion that makes a coach& his team fight till d end not just good players. We have good players but Rohr lacked passion.

Kudos to the Senegalese FA that kept faith in Cisse all along and resisted the temptation of foreign coach. If it was nigeria, he would have long been sacked. Cisse and the Senegalese FA have proved that African coaches are good enough

Sadio Mane and his mates have done well but people should stop comparing them with the class of 2002.

Cisse, Diouf and the 2002 set were class. They reached quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup on their debut… at the finals of 2002 AFCON, they were unlucky.

It was the same scenario like 2022.
Cisse the present manager, Diouf and one other player missed their penalties while Pierre Wome and Rigobert Song missed for Cameroun.
Cameroun only took the trophy via penalties and it could’ve gone either ways.

If Egypt had won, Senegal would’ve been tagged serial losers or the Netherland of African football.
