Things Fall apart - Chinua Achebe( author of the century)
The Oil man of Ogbanje- john Munonye

My best all time african novel is "The beautiful ones are not yet born" by Nguigi w'thoingi

i hv read loadz of african novels and i alwaz understood them on d first read (even though i wasnt a literature student)but when i read the beautiful ones are not yet born, i didnt quite get a hang of it d 1st time, then i read it again (slowly) and voila i felt lyk i had discovered a treasure!
Nguigi told more than a story in the beautiful ones are not yet born!

I kinda liked jero plays, lion and d jewel and Ake by wole soyinka.
Also, al the novels i read by chinua achebe were on point.

More recently, half of a yellow sun by chinamanda adichie.

Guess ,african writers are blessed.
