TWO men, a 25-year-old final year Economics student of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education (AIFCE), Owerri, Ifeanyi Chiekezie and Chima Okpara, a classroom attendant in the institution's Department of Music, have been arrested by the police in Imo State for allegedly defrauding over 300 persons in the state to the tune of N14 million.


Parading the suspects at the premises of the state Police Headquarters in Owerri on Wednesday, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mr. Linus Nwaiwu, a deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Maishanu, disclosed that the alleged fraudsters had gone through a Christian ministry's overseer to announce the job offers in the church, adding that they demanded from each victim between N30,000 and N45,000.
