It depends. In Canada, hospital visits like seeing a Dr, medically necessary surgeries are free, drugs are not, but most provinces have plans that pay for medications for some class of people. In some European countries, everything is free. |

Depends on the country. For Canada you pay for drugs and other things. But many companies have insurance plans staff tap into. So you get to pay just 15% of the drugs amount, some cases 300 dols for eye glasses and some dental coverage too. The so called free health care is funded from taxes |

People pay taxes for it. However, we will consider that not paying directly is free. So in most countries that have this policy, some things are free and some things not, basically because the local government would not be able to pay for everything. So usually lower risk surgeries are free, surgeries with medium and high complexity not. This applies to all other medical services. |
