A redesigned dashboard and revamped interior materials are the main 2007 change for the smaller of Cadillac's two SUVs.
SRX is based on a car-type design, seats up to seven, and offers V6 and V8 engines. Rear-wheel drive is standard. All-wheel drive without low-range gearing is optional. V6 SRXs have 260 hp and a 5-speed automatic transmission. V8s have 320 hp and, for '07, a 6-speed automatic instead of a 5-speed. Available on all is GM's automatic-adjusting Magnetic Ride Control suspension. ABS and traction/antiskid control are standard. So are front side airbags and curtain side airbags that cover the first two seating rows. A split folding 2nd-row seat slides 4 inches fore/aft for extra leg room or cargo space. An available 3rd-row seat power folds flush with the cargo floor. Available are DVD entertainment, Cadillac's UltraView sunroof with a 5.6-sq-ft opening, and UltraView Plus that adds a vented glass panel over the 3rd-row seat.
