We Stand With NURTW - Secretary Lagos State Chapter Comrade Seyi Bankole.

Seyi Bankole, Secretary, NURTW, Lagos State Council, addressed the members and made known that all differences among members are soon coming to an end.
He, however, stated that no purchase of the union ticket or payment of any union receipt or debt is made to the State Council to avoid possible problems that may arise through double payments.
He continued further: "Meetings will not be allowed in the state Council premises. To avoid embarrassment or being arrested by law enforcement agencies."
As law-abiding citizens, let's obey the directives of the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo- Olu.

The State Chairman, Tricycle Owners and Operators Association of Nigeria (TOOAN), Alhaji Azeez Abiola (a.k.a. Istijabah), has said that an ally of the National Union of Road Transport Workers is not leaving the transportation body.

He stated this on Thursday, 31st March 2022, while speaking with the journalist that none of his members has plans to quit the transport union of the state.

He went further: "For some of us who are stakeholders in the transport business, we have nowhere to go because we are still an ally of the NURTW. Those that can sabotage the union are the ones that do not have a stake."

A few weeks ago, the Lagos State Government suspended all the activities of the NURTW across all parks and garages to ensure the continuation of law and order in the state.

But the contrary is the case as the suspended chairman of the union, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (a.k.a MC Oluomo), and his loyalist has continued the sale of tickets to commercial transport workers across the state, totally against the State Government's directive.

While speaking at the interactive session, a scribe of the Union from Abuja, Alhaji Rafiu Akanni Olohunwa, the former Chairman of NURTW in Lagos State, confirmed that the relationship between the apex transportation body and TOOAN is still very much intact.

However, he encouraged the aggrieved individual who deserted the union to rethink their action and head back to the National Headquarters for reconciliation.
"The NURTW is still an ally of TOOAN while the aggrieved members of the Union should rethink their decision while peace gains restoration back into the fold." Olohunwa quips.

The event appeared to have a massive turnout from members of the Association across the state had in attendance, the former state Chairman of the NURTW, Alhaji Rafiu Akanni Olohunwa, the State Secretary, Comrade Seyi Bankole, TOOAN State Secretary, Comrade Shakiru Arowooye Lawal, former TOOAN State Chairman, Alhaji Muri Lawal (a.k.a Epo), members of the TOOAN Board of Trustees, former and present state executives.
