He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.


Man fell out with God as a result of his ambition and quest to become, independent of God's will, which is factored in rebellion. The first Adam modelled rebellion, the 2nd Adam, the Christ whom is the reference of God for man modelled Obedience by denying himself of all pleasure , all ambition and will.

God made christ our reference that all man kind should conform to his image by beholding him by faith . Even Adam was not excluded from this project as he was expected of him to eat of the tree of eternal life which symbolized Christ.

Romans 8:29 KJV
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

in context of the first quoted bible verse, any man who finds his life is one that seeks after his own ambition , self aggrandizment and preservation like the fallen man , the likes of cain, but the one that follows Christ Genuinely is like a sheep led to the slaughter, he has denied himself of every "life", will contrary to the will of God.

But as we genuinely Follow Christ and believe in him, the spirit that raised Jesus from the dead implicates us in our belief in him, it invades our mundane with a constraining desire of love and obsession to bask in his presence daily. It constrains us to solely live for him as a reasonble thing to do as seen in 2 corinthians 5:14.

The proof of our belief in the son is that we are given the spirit and power that enables us to become sons of God as it inevitably navigates us on the narrow path Jesus threaded on, a path of self denial and bearing of the cross daily, a path that brings to us an organic death to all old works of ambition, goals and dreams that were not ordained by God but of the fallen man, that the life which was in him may be made manifest in our mortal bodies , and so that the law of the spirit of life can find expression as we become slaves of righteouness, holiness, yielded to express the sovereign will of God for our individual lives and territories.
