King Hezekiah of Judah was a man who greatly benefited from combined grace and mercy of God. However, he was such a visionless and selfish leader who rode on leverage of David his predecesor, exhausted his own timeline and left nothing but legacy of slavery for the next generation after him.
During the time of divided kingdom of Isreal:
1. Hezekiah appointed time to die came and God showed him special grace by revealing this to him via prophet Isaiah. 2 King 20:1-6
2.He cried unto God and got an extension of 15 years! 2 King 20:6
3. God gave him 3 day healing from a terminal disease 2 King 20:8
4. God promised him and Judah protection from King of Assyria who had decimated Isreal by that time. God did not do it because he deserved it, but for His own and David's sake! 2 King 20:6b
5.God prospered him greatly.2 King20
6. Hezekiah sinned by revealing the secret of his Kingdom to a pagan King of Babylon, and God revealed this to him and the future implications, which shall be loss of his kingdom and his people to slavery. 2 King 20:13-18
7. Instead of Hezekiah expected repentance and asking for forgiveness, he said he was OK by the implications since it will not happen in his lifetime.2 King 19



Conclusion
Many world leaders today are like Hezekiah. A popular adage says: "politicians think of the next election while elderstateman to think about next generation" Many leaders today are ever ready to sacrifice future generations for their selfish political gains.
