The HND/BSC dichotomy Bill awaits the presidential assent for a couple of years. While it is delayed, a lot of injustice and pain is being experienced by the holders of HND in their workplaces. It might interest you to know that after the announcement of its abolition by the Federal Government, the Federal Fire Service in collaboration with the board of the Ministry of Interior has prevented officers holding HND from sitting for the 2022 promotion exercise. Furthermore, officers holding HND in engineering courses were removed from the list of enhanced entry points for engineers while their mates holding BSC were placed on the next rank. These and more are the demeaning and cruel conditions personnel holding HND certificates are subjected to despite the announcement of the abolition of dichotomy.
Please help prevail on President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to sign the dichotomy Bill into law; as it is the only hope of many Nigerian workforces suffering untold hardship from this age-long discrimination.
