Good day Family. I hope you all doing well.
I have this particular speech issue that has been bothering me for quite some years. I hope to get suggestions, advice and even a recipe for a total cure of this embarrassing ailment.
I tend to have this bizarre heaviness of the mouth, like my mouth/tongue is being caged from speaking/voicing out forcing me to apply more efforts when speaking and sometimes, utterances won’t even come out well. Whenever am in this bizarre mode, I tend not to think well which pushes me to say meaningless things as my brain can’t connect with my mouth. It like the, muscles in my mouth that controls speech are stiffed forcing me to apply more effort when talking.

Sometimes, am free from this bondage for like 3 days, a week or even a whole month (quite rare), and I speak freely like a normal human should. These days when am free, is like a festival to me as am able to interact more, make new friends and overall communicate more effectively like every human should. I so much cherish these days. When party is over, am back to default, which is quite embarrassing and depressing. I am such a fluent speaker, and this shouldn’t be happening to me. This is dragging me from making some important decisions in my life.

Things I notice: When am in this sad stage, and I take cold water, most times, am free of this bondage for like 10 to 15 minutes before am back to default. Taking cold waters releases me from the shackles of this beast. Also, when am super excited/ extremely happy, am free too, till whenever it last. These I have notice

NOTE: I GATHER SALIVA IN MY MOUTH WHENEVER I SLEEP IRRESPECTIVE OF THE POSITION I SLEEP.

It is a congenital defect. See a doctor.

I have same, but I don't think mine is as serious as yours. But I do stutter when it matters, it feels like my tongue twisted and I won't be to talk fluently or pronounce words audibly. It's quite sad, 'cos it's embarrassing, but, hey, im used to it. I also notice that, I do speak fluently or rarely stutter words when I speak English, but whenever I do the same with Yoruba, I do stutter hard and force my speech. I be thinking I have speech disorder or sum.

Bro, see your doctor and learn to understand ur situation very well. Once the doctors do their job, they will tell u their diagnosis, which u can then use to work on urself. Is possible there are triggers........to it.

But generally, take things easy. If being tense makes it worse, then u HV to learn to calm down. Again, if u are constantly worrying about, it might not help u, especially if is being so since child hood. See ur doctor pls.
