gimakon2: The love for the "latest" is what is keeping some people as high earners on legacy code. If I mentioned FORTRAN to you I'm sure you'd nearly faint. But there's a huge opening for highly skilled FORTRAN programmers in very NICHE science and research fields. Sometimes "latest" is not necessarily a good thing. I am not saying don't learn the latest tech. I'm saying we as tech guys should not always be in a rush to denigrate the "old tech"... they were the backs on which today's tech came from |
