Insecurity is the god child of unemployment and lawlessness, these two issues I
believe has been highlighted in the previous topics, but I will explain better
how they will factor in.
We have a young, dynamic demography in Nigeria, as well as in most African
countries. The potential in these youths is better channeled into productive
use otherwise, vices will keep rising, this is true for any country weather
developing or developed.
Luckily, most of the solutions in this booklet are centered around job creation.
Our farms and what we do in them will create jobs, our smart cities will create
jobs, our training and technological programs will create jobs, basically every
topic highlighted in the booklet creates jobs.
Security is a carrot and stick business, it’s one thing to point youths to
legitimate sustainable sources of income, it’s another to dissuade them from
the easy, get-rich-quick allures of criminality. We are agents of societal change,
so we’ll join hands with government, security apparatus, none for profit
organizations and socio-religious institutions to preach against vices,
strengthen the institutes of government, reorient and reintegrate those who
are willing to turn a new leaf.
The place of corrective dissuasion isn’t left out, we preach that actions have
consequences and hence those who take part in criminality should be ready to
face the consequences.
By teaching users of our legal insurance platform how to defend their right.
This will go a long way in cementing the fact that actions which hitherto have
been overlooked by security agents now have consequences and will keep
them on their toes to do their job.
For instance, a serial mugger and assaulter who has always been left off the
hook because no one has really pressed charges and followed it through to
court will soon realize society has changed. Not only is he going to court, but
many other victims are either joining the case or volunteering as witness. A
thorough prosecution and a conviction will send a message to would be
criminals and the security apparatus alike.
