The recent downpour in Lagos and its attendant floods have hindered the provision of medical services in some hospitals in the state and destroyed their medical records.
Departments such as the records department, the X-ray unit, laboratories and even wards were still flooded as at Saturday evening.

A patient, Mr Moses Opara, said that he had not been attended to, as the file containing his medical history could not be located due to the flooded records room.

The medical history files of the patients were placed on tables and benches to prevent further destruction by the flood.

A nurse, Mrs Tokunbo Adewale, said they had resorted to scooping water from flooded wards and units with bowls and dustpans.
