Tips
1. In Loomis drawing method the upper half and the lower half are the same length while in babies the upper part is more larger
As contrast fashion models have longer legs mostly from the kneels

But six year olds are not miniature adults.

As people grow, body proportions change. For instance, at birth, the head accounts for one-quarter of total body length. In adulthood, the head typically counts for one-seventh of height.

And other parts of the body grow at different rates too – which leads to gradual changes in ratios of one body part to another. Let’s look at the crown-to-pubis distance compared to the pubis-to-heel distance. Simply put, that’s a comparison of the upper section of the body to the lower section. At birth, this ratio is typically 1.7. Then, as legs lengthen in relation to the rest of the body, that number goes down to 1.5 at one year old and 1.2 at five years old. By age seven, the ratio is 1.0, indicating that the upper and lower parts of the body are of equal length. www.thechildren.com

Today I learn that one major difference between cartoons/simple art forms and semi realistic art which I love. are the LINES with which we represent the forms.

Another is the light/shading though I consider lines as the most significant.

Img1 - A model I traced.
Img2 - Trying to represent the planes of his face correctly

The light is coming from two directions so it fvking with me

While in Animation the posing and timing really matters.
They help you show your weight and balance and stuffs.

Jinora from Legend of Korra. In my own style.

#DrawingTips
• It's far better to draw solid three-dimensional spheres boxes and cylinders than to draw meaningless muscle outlines with no bones.
• Makes sure you know how a cloth folds before drawing it on a character.
• Draw the bigger masses first
• If your simplified drawing feels wrong. Correct it first before adding details. It's far easier to correct a few lines than an almost finished piece.

When animating pivots esp begginers. Use as much reference as your need. Because you need to visualize the motions correctly before you can animate it. Then exaggerate to make it as clear as possible.

Start with the key poses first. Make sure the timing is correct. Then the semi in-betweens then the final in-betweens.

When posing move the bigger masses first. I.e torso.

Hi, I used mostly Inkscape for all the arts above. Nowadays, I color with GIMP tho. They are all free, open source software.
