After 3 years of doing the architectural drawing for this client, the construction job came back. We have started work on the site at Umuire village along Ahia Ubani. It's day 5 already. Taking the level for the excavation work was the major headache due to the topography of the land but we conquered it

Day 1 Setting out of the main building. We had to take different levels which were out of plum until we arrived at the appropriate level that will take the basement properly, considering the fence and landscaping as well as to give room for excavation sand that will be used for the filling of the front foundation.

Day 2 Excavation of the foundation and tying of the pillars and baskets that will be used during foundation blinding

Day 3 Blinding of the foundation took 49 bags of cement excluding the basement area

The foundation block works has been completed barely a week ago but l haven't had time to come online to update you people.

Digging of the basement area due to the land topography and architectural design of the building. 4 men had to get our level on this area. They worked 4 days and we paid 70k for the excavation. One challenge we encountered in the basement is the fact that the place produces water. I mean water comes out from the group. Ya, it's close to a swamp. Due to this, we decided to go for raft foundation in some areas and also raft foundation in place of double walls demarcation contained in the design. Reason being that we want something more solid that will carry the weight of the filling sand and stop possible wetting of internal walls.

Footing of raft foundation of about 5' all round. 3 full length of 12mm rode was layed on 2ft half cuts of 12mm rode with 1.2m stirrup as our raft foundation height. All necessary pillars was mounted before binding |
