A business-politics pressure group, Atiku Business Support Group (ABSG) has hailed the appointment of Dr Ali Adamu Bappayo as the Special Assistant on Business Community to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

In a statement by the media office of the group, the statement described Dr Bappayo as " a committed loyalist with substantial background within the private sector", expressing confidence that the PDP candidate has by that appointment confirmed his recognition of the role of business community in national development.

The group also acknowledged the ongoing mobilisation of the business community by the newly appointed special assistant, pledging to work closely with him to mobilise the private sector for the presidential ambition of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

" We are private sector operators from various Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Nigeria. Our members are established business leaders who have selected the former Vice President as their candidate because of his robust agenda on the economy and the importance of the private sector to reviving the Nigerian economy. The ABSG is in every state and towns where you have Chambers of Commerce and Industry and business associations.

" What attract the former Vice President to us is the many incentives built into his manifestoes for the private sector. Because he is an entrepreneur and investor , Atiku Abubakar understands where the show pinches, hence having him at the State House will be a great relief for the private sector", the statement noted.

The statement concluded that the association will soon pay courtesy call on the PDP candidate to present its "Get the Vote Out Agenda" across polling units in Nigeria in support of the PDP candidate.
