What is the Meaning of IJMB?
You might have been wondering what IJMB means, it’s an accroymn which stands for Interim Joint Matriculation Board.

That’s not all, the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) was established in 1976 and moderated by a reputable institution in Nigeria— Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Adding to that, It’s simply an alternative Advance Level (A’ Level) programme to JAMB which enables a candidate into any tertiary institution without stress.

Fortunately, it has been approved by National Universities Commission (NUC) and also by the Federal Government.

Most importantly, IJMB is a nine month academic programme that aids student to get admitted in the tertiary institution in Nigeria into 200 level via Direct Entry (D.E)


How Does IJMB 2022 Work?

IJMB allows you as a prospective student to choose three courses/subjects that is related to your field which you will likely study in your desired University.

Candidates would then be lectured for the stipulated period at their respective Study Centre and thereafter sit for the final examination.

It is mandatory that prospective students should score at least 5 points in their IJMB exams to be considered eligible to 200 level.

On completion of the programme, successful candidates accordingly utilize their IJMB certificate to secure admission into 200 level in any Nigeria tertiary institution via Direct Entry.

IJMB Program Duration

As we stated on this page above, that it’s a 9 month program. Lectures are scheduled to start between March and April and then runs through the whole year.

IJMB exams usually start around January or the first week of February in the following year.

Also, registration starts around November and ends in April of the following year.

IJMB Eligibility 2022/2023
To be eligible to apply for this programme, candidates must possess a requisite ‘O’ Level Qualifications. Also, candidates who are also awaiting their ‘O’ Level Results can apply.

1. In IJMB, there are no restrictions in the categories of subjects be it Science, Arts or social science. Everyone is accepted to apply as long as they fufill the eligibility criteria.

2. Candidates with WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB are accepted into the programme.

3. The IJMB Programme does not require you to bring any of these: certificate of origin, jamb score, recommendation letter from your Pastor/Iman.

4. Candidates are advised to take note that IJMB does not entertain any request for a refund of money.

5. IJMB results does not expire, thus candidate can use their result anytime needed.
