Hi Guys,

In the olden days, it is ideal for an average Nigerian family to have 10 children and above, my great grand father had 16 children from 2 wifes. But his son, my grad father had 12. My father had 5 and it seems the number is going down.

WHO (World Health Organisation) says that an average nigerian woman gives birth to five children (Nigeria has a parity rate of 5), which is one of the highest world wide. But I observed that there is now a decline in the number of children an average Nigerian wants to have, especially those in the city or those who are educated.

How many children is ideal for an average Nigerian family in this clime. Please I want to know your comment

Well, I'm praying to God for 3 children with my Nigerian husband. He actually only wants two. I think he happy as long as he has a "junior". Unless it's in God's will to have 5+ children, that's not going to happen if we can help it. grin
