Given the tight schedules of teams across Europe in the upcoming months, Didier Deschamps has urged Christophe Galtier to rest Kylian Mbappe in a few games before the Qatar World Cup begins in November.

The PSG manager has not considered about allowing perhaps his best player to move to the bench, despite the manager of the French national team calling for his superstar to be given the opportunity to “breathe” in between games.

Mbappe has scored 10 goals in just nine games to start the season, but Deschamps will still want his attacker to arrive in Qatar in good physical shape.

He told French outlet Telefoot: ‘I know he [Galtier] still wants to play Kylian. But from time to time: to be able to breathe a little bit, to have a few good minutes less, it won’t fail him, quite the contrary.’

The 23-year-old world-class talent offers to an already star-studded team will possibly not be sorely missed in Ligue 1.

However, his team still has four more Champions League games to play, and Galtier will undoubtedly start his strongest team to give them the best opportunity of moving on.
