Private individuals have built several REFINERIES across the country. The steal crude oil every day, refine it and sell it to neighboring countries, but a whole country can not build and maintain one in the last 20 years, yet they spend millions of dollars on it yearly in maintenance.

The only way we can have working legit refineries is by removing subsidy and allowing the market set the price.

That way, the legal refineries would make enough profit to operate well, and government would no longer be spending money on subsides , but would be using them for other things.

In 1973, subsides were brought in. We had two refineries then...by next year we would have 4 useless refineries...because when you run things at a subsidy, it ends up being a mess.
