The issue with the car has to do with the sensor attached with the injector which was affected when the engine caught fire. Also note that all parts affected by the fire have all been replaced. See pictures below:

how much is a new engine?

A new engine should not be more than 70k. But you need not buy a complete engine. what you will probably buy is just some part of the engine. because a large proportion of the engine parts have been changed already.

The Ac works well. you will however have to refill the gas.
