Knowledge doesn't reside only in one man and thats the reason why this question is been put across to

1) Military or paramilitary personnel's on Nairaland

2)Non-military but understand the reason why

Nigeria soldiers have a common say,

"You bloody civilian"
"Bloody civilians, you are useless"

Now my question is; "why do military men do call civilians "bloody" ?

Secondly, why saying " Civilians are useless" ?

Is it a joke or they truly mean it?
If its not a joke then why are civilians useless?

Because they carry no arms?
Because they can't defend themselves?
Because they are jobless?

Does it mean " without military training, you aren't useful"

Yet, these civilians pays the military through tax payers
Yet , you do engage the services of these civilians in almost all aspect of whatever you do.

But wait, if truly civilians are useless,

But their mothers and fathers are civilians
Their wives and husbands are civilians
Their siblings are civilians
There children are civilians
Their great grand parents, mostly are civilians.

These civilians enjoy all the comfort the world has to offer while you;

Stand in the sun, at check points
Mount patrol vehicles , and countering insurgency in a thick bush.

Some of you got killed and your family get denied of your entitlement but all tht still count is; civilians are useless

You are drafted to the war front today and the next morning , you are no more.

So pls , in what way are civilians useless and helpless , bloody?

I believe you're not a military personnel? Don't you care when someone in kahki calls you useless , helpless and bloody?

Any reason to justify this military misconception?
