As you prepare to return to school, it's easy to get overwhelmed by all you need to do before lectures starts therefore to help ease the burden, we've put together a very comprehensive list of things you need to do that will help you seamless transit from staying at home to being a student again

You may be wondering about how you are going to pay for your rent, or buy groceries or your school fees, or even make a checklist of the items you need to take to school. It can be quite daunting you know. Do you find it difficult to make a ‘back to school’ list? Considering how expensive things are, you may have to be frugal with your spending so your limited resources can meet your needs. Here, we’ve put together a list of almost everything you need as you go back to school.
Kitchen
1. Spoons, forks, knife
2. Bowls and bucket
3. Plates
4. Mug and cup
5. Food flask
6. Garri
7. Noodles
8. Spaghetti
9. Frying pan
10. Pots – small and slightly bigger size
11. Snacks – biscuits, healthy drinks, plantain chips, pringles
12. Flour – for baking muffins, pan cakes
13. Sugar
14. Butter
15. Beans – go for the one that cooks relatively faster

17. Sweet potatoes
18. Yam
19. Plantain

22. Spices – curry, thyme
23. Grinded dried pepper

28. Stock fish (note: all you need is a little amount of each item)

Bedroom
1. Blanket
2. Rug and some cushions
3. A picture or two of loved ones
4. A frame of inspirational or motivational quote
5. Purse
6. Important documents
7. Cards: ATM cards, National Identification Number Card, drivers license if available, school identity card, library card
8. Bags – travelling bags ( you can mend the old one or buy a new one), lecture bag, ‘ghana bag’, bin bags, ‘moin moin’ leather
9. Clothes – week days and weekend wears
10. Shoes – slippers, sandals, sneakers, corporate shoes
11. Sweaters
12. Underwear – singlets, panties, boxers
13. Socks
14. Belt
15. Caps
16. Bedsheets, pillow cases
17. Night wear
18. Cloth hangers
19. Medicine – anti malaria, panadol, paracetamol, tetra cycline, flagyl (Please visit the school clinic as soon as you feel any signs of fever or weakness)
20. Laptop and charger
21. Phone, ear piece and charger
22. Mini solar light and charger

Toiletries
1. Toilet roll
2. Liquid disinfectant – dettol, izal, jik
3. Toilet brush
4. Bathing soap
5. Body cream
6. Facial cleanser
7. Body spray/perfume
8. Shampoo and conditioner
9. Toothbrush
10. Tooth paste
11. Mouth wash
12. Nail file
13. Towels
14. Sanitary towels for ladies
15. Detergent and liquid wash
16. Shoe polish
17. Light makeup kit for the ladies

Stationaries
1. Books
2. Pens
3. Cardboards – you can use this for assignments or to make a summary of the course using initialisms or acronyms and charts of courses which can be pasted by your bedside for study purpose.
4. Markers
5. Highlighters
6. Sharpener
7. Pencil case
8. Long notebooks and short notebooks of 80 leaves and 60 leaves
9. Thread and needle

Tidying up your things

1. Do your laundry
Ensure you wash all your clothes, dry them properly, iron them and pack them into a box.
2. Clean and polish your shoes, then wash where necessary.
3. Have you sorted out your accommodation?
If you are looking for a house outside the campus, make sure it’s not in a rowdy area, is the place safe, are there students living nearby, can you find grocery shop within the neighborhood?
Are all these things important? Yes.
Do you have to buy everything on this list? Not necessarily, in fact you may need to add some more items to the list and remove some.
