Lagosians Stranded At Bus Stops. What's The Situation In Your Area?

Jubril A. Gawat @Mr_JAGs

FLASH: .The Lagos State Government is looking into the demands of the Joint Drivers Welfare Association of Nigeria (JDWAN), with a view to finding permanent solutions to the issues raised by the Association.

The move becomes necessary following the planned seven-day job boycott by the drivers over alleged “harassment and extortion by motor parks and garages management”.

Sequel to the announcement by JDWAN to embark on a seven-day strike starting from 31st October, 2022, the Ministry of Transportation invited its leadership to a meeting on Friday 28th October, 2022, despite its non-affiliation to any of the transport unions known by the State Government, i.e NURTW and RTEAN.

Most of the union members at the meeting were from the Badagry axis and it was resolved that the meeting be adjourned till Wednesday, 2nd November, 2022 to have a larger house (the Unions inclusive) and resolve the matter amicably.

The outcome of the 2nd November, 2022 Meeting will be made known to the public.

The State Government urges drivers to continue their daily routine without fear of molestation and intimidation as security agencies have been directed to maintain law and order.

Those who are taking advantage of the situation to raise fares are warned to desist from doing so or face the consequences of their illegal actions.

Signed;
Hon. Sola Giwa
Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation
31st October, 2022.

Monopolize certain sectors of our economy. Allow the private sector to handle transportation and electricity generation while the government creates a good environment for everyone to operate. that's all!

This is one of the woes of Tinubu.
The touts he raised have now become a menace and he still uses them as machinery.

Same thing with boko haraḿ the North so-called elites created to frustrated THEMSELVES.

The permanent solution to this "criminal extortion" is to "fully automate" collection of levy from all drivers in Lagos and this would in turn permanently cut off the "nefarious activities" of these miscreants/hooligans!

WHY PETER OBI SHOULD BE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA 2023

1. Immediate reduction in cost of governance (no more wearing of oversized 1000/500 outfits up and down) drastic reduction of wastages. Exorbitant amount of money wasted on medical tourism by the president and his team.

2. No more romance to terrorism and banditry (holistic approach and decisive fight against corruption and inflated government contracts)

3. Work and pay by hourly basis. (No more abuse of human labour in Nigeria by top companies and low income earning business) no work no pay, no more laziness and nonchalant attitude towards work. Physical energy is needed to govern Nigeria, no more old and sick grannies in Aso rock.

All these I’ve stated have been proven and confirm that my candidate has the character to execute them. He has done it in the past, he’s currently doing it and he will continue doing it.

It's now that they want to look into their demands. These drivers gave about a week notice before embarking on this strike but the government chose to ignore their warning. Why didn't they meet them before the deadline given. Must they allow the people suffer before acting. See how lagosians were trekking today including me. Very u serious and non proactive government. Always applying fire brigade approach in everything.
Whether the government likes it or not these drivers are key stake holders in the transport sectors. Now the suffering will continue tomorrow until the government wakes up .

Government says the recognised transport unions are NURTW and RTEAN.

These unions were created to protect the interests of the bus drivers but have instead become conduits for shameless extortion of the Lagos people. It is no wonder that this has given birth to JDWAN.

The statement released by LASG spokesman is disappointing to say the least. How can he say the issue is largely restricted to the Badagry axis when the statement released by JDWAN gave detailed description of the fares and extortions done in numerous sections of the metropolis outside Badagry. Why the attempt to trivialize the matter instead of showing seriousness to conduct a thorough investigation across the city on an issue that has been a sore sticking point plaguing the state for such a long time?

Shameful to say the least!

there are 2 governors in Lagos state, one is the elected governor and the second is the head of all touts and agberos in Lagos state , the second fully became grounded and established by tinubu .

A VOTE FOR TINUBU AND APC IS A VOTE TO TOTAL LAWLESSNESS AND ANARCHY
