Which two elephants? ... the lecturers just put a rope around their neck by saying what they will do .... evidence against themselves. Should they do that they can be charged for extortion. When on strike ..... it is for the Union to pay their salaries. They resumed in mid September ... the Union pays for half and the FG the other half. What the Union is avoiding is accounting for the Union Dues collected over the yearssss.

Why would the lecturers always readily turn their fights against the students After wasting 8 months of their lives, they're now being denied their results! Why couldn't ASUU challenge the university management in court for withholding the salary they never worked for anyway

ASUU should know that there's a limit to what people can take, especially the youths!

state universities are not employed by federal government but by state government. ask them to show you their employment letter head. if it shows federal ministry of education or state ministry of education

You own a store and you employed a store keeper. Customers paid for good and service from the store, your storekeeper went on strike for 8 months demanding her preferred salary payment system and improved store design etc.
Customers are frustrated, some left the country while some went to other stores. The ones with no option are cursing the store owner for poor service delivery and you think you can pay the salary of 8 months to the store keeper after she decides or forced to resume?

An Association isn't viewed that way, especially those backed by law. Apart from the national body, each federal and state University still has their own body of ASUU. The national body sees to the welfare of all( be it state or federal). There's a constitution under which they operate. An association doesn't have anything to do with who employs who. Look at the NLC for instance, once they declare a strike, all of them must comply, including fed and state workers and that's why you don't see money to withdraw at the bank during an NLC strike cos banks too would join.

You withhold result, then it is assumed that you are back on strike or not working, then the no work no pay will resume.

If you are tired of the job you have, resign and work somewhere else, non be by force to work for government.

Civil service is a low paying job, you know it before you enter. Some of them even lobby to get the job, once they now get the job they start forming tiger.
