Just a couple of days when US court convicted Nigerian notorious online scammer Ramon Abbas popularly known as Hushpuppi for 11years.

There were different accounts of how long he'll be staying in prison...

Some said it's 10yrs, others 9yrs. Some even said it's half of the years being convicted that US correctional center use 6 months instead of 1yr.

Can someone who knows how prison sentence is calculated educate us?

Usually in the United states...mild offenders like fruad cases, sentenced to over two years will normally serve half their sentence in prison and serve the rest of the sentence in the community on licence often refered to as parole..... unless the judge specifically said no option for parole at the time of the sentencing

If the crime is violent or wicked sexual offenders where the sentence is 7 years or more the offender will only have the opportunity for parole after doing two-thirds of their time.. not half lile the minor offenders like fraud or scam....

So hushpuppy is happy because he should normally spend 5.5 years out of his 11 years sentence....and spend the rest outaide jail on parole.....out of 5.5 he has spent two already....nigga should be getting out on parole in just 3.5 years..

Noooo..there's no parole option in nigeria.... nigeria is not that organized... parole arrangement usually has parole officers assigned to the prisoners who checks in on them and ensure they do not move outside certain loactions, dont take drugs, dont do certain jobs, cant travel, they mostly even wear ankle monitors that tracks their gps location realtime.....

but nigerians have release for good behavior or presidential or governor pardon which is all arrangee or what u can refer to as a fraudulently legal arrangement
