Given the ongoing attacks in the majority of the states where food grains are grown in large-scale commercial quantities, there are signs that the food crisis and inflation may get worse in 2023.

Various signs are showing that food expansion might deteriorate in 2023. The issue of weakness issues in states where food grains are developed in business amounts has turned into an essential requirement for concern. The biggest maker of popular harvests, for example, maize, Kaduna has seen constant assaults cresting with assaults on the Kaduna Worldwide Air terminal and the disastrous Abuja-Kaduna train in Spring.

Some people lack the resources to purchase the food they require for themselves or their families, which is referred to as food insecurity. Our neighborhood has long struggled with widespread food insecurity, which is now getting worse.

Politicking-fueled general unease has been exacerbated by the lead-up to the general elections in 2023. As a result, it would worsen the situation with regard to food production, food scarcity, and inflation as the majority of farming communities would be forced to relocate or be unable to access their farmlands.

The largest producer of maize, a commodity in significant demand for direct human consumption, commercial food processing, and animal feeds, is reportedly Kaduna State. However, over the past few years, the state has experienced an unparalleled amount of daring bandit attacks, which peaked with the unbelievable attacks on the Kaduna International Airport and the tragic Abuja-Kaduna train in March.

Again, the country heavily relies on agriculture that is supported by rainfall, yet when it rains, the most awful herders, bandits, and other criminal groups have a green cover.

According to displacement.org, 586,000 people have been internally displaced as a result of the violence that has produced insecurity in the north-central and northwest regions.

Comrade Salihu Abubakar, vice president of the Catfish and Allied Fish Farmers Association of Nigeria (CAFFAN), North-West Zone, claimed that the country's insecurity had spread outside of the north, harming food production and legal companies.

This is an issue that Nigeria as a whole, not just the Northern region, is dealing with. Insecurity has prevented 65% of farmers from visiting their farms since banditry became a concern in the north.

According to Abubakar, the government needs to address insecurity to enable farmers to produce enough food to feed the expanding population and prevent the spread of hunger.

In a statement titled "Insecurity is the foremost threat factor to the attainment of food security in Nigeria: the state governments in the north should work jointly and collectively to ensure restoration of normalcy or the entire country will go hungry," former National President of the

All Farmers' Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Kabir Ibrahim, stated that it had been nearly 15 years since Boko Haram started as a religious movement in the North-East zone before growing into a famine.

He claimed that although there had been considerable effort made to stop the group's activities, it had only been partially successful.
