Emefiele stated on Thursday that although the financial regulator has no intention of suspending the policy, the central bank would not be strict in its adherence to it.

The timing, intent, and effects of the withdrawal strategy on Nigerians reportedly came under discussion in the House of Representatives, which asked that it be stopped.
