Everton striker Yakubu beat the deadline to move to Blackburn

Everton say striker Yakubu has moved to Blackburn Rovers on a permanent deal.

The Nigeria international spent the second half of last season on loan in the Championship with Leicester City.

The 28-year-old previously played for Portsmouth and Middlesbrough in the top flight before joining Everton in August 2007.

He was able to depart Goodison Park following the arrival of Argentine striker Denis Stracqualursi on a season-long loan from Tigres.

I guess that news is misleading, as I think the deal did not scale through.

The deal was neither confirmed by Everton, Blackburn or FA.

This is the complete deadline deals as far as premiership is concerned.

Yakubu actually has joined Blackburn Rovers from Everton, guess Everton were just waiting for a new striker to come in before sanctioning the move.
The move happened very, very late though.

Chei, Yakubu is just 28yrs old shocked. This same Yakubu played in Sydney 2000 Olympics and that was 11yrs ago.

I never knew Yak is now 28yrs,i use to think he ws 21/22.lol, He is a gud striker on his own good day.one of the leading scorers in Epl in the last 7yrs

I don't know why y'all are hating on the yak afterall he's not the first to under-perform in national team colours. You can't deny he's been good (can't say superb) through his stints from portsmouth-middlesborough-everton-licestar city. I'm glad he's back to playing premier league football. Wish him luck.
