The Nigerian Government recently signed into law, the Local Content bill and setup a board to monitor the local content of Nigerians in the jobs and contracts in the Oil and Gas Sector. The board is called NCDMB (Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board)

The primary problem Nigeria has is that we make tons of money from the oil and gas sector and we (Nigerians) have not been able to service this sector! Mobil makes say 20Billion USD and all that money leaves Nigeria without any percentage of it being retained in the Nigerian economy. Imagine what will happen if a Nigerian bank can have a deposit of 2Billion USD left for say 6months! They will hire at least 1000 Nigerian to be able to manage this fund. They will even be looking for who to lend money to, businesses will sprout up here and there because there is money to be lent to people.

The NCDMB is setup to monitor participation of Nigerians in this sector as well as train Nigerians.

This board has setup a website, www.nogicjqs.com and is currently doing a pre-qualification of all Nigerians that want to work in the oil and gas sector via their portal http://portal.nogicjqs.com (NOGIC JQS means Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Joint Qualification System) Please refer to the local content act of the federal government to understand this properly.

I salute the Nigerian government for this grand initiative and I am excited at the ripple effects of this singular act on our economy.

What is in it for me as a Nigerian?
A lot. We need to upload our CV's into this platform to enable the NCDMB to do their job properly. The idea is that no expatriate should come into the country to do a job that a Nigerian should be able to do.
People, upload your CV's and get your relatives to do so too such that we will be able to take control of our economy.

I understand the minister of petroleum will launch this site in some few months and training will start in earnest for the people already prequalified that are okay for some existing positions. I learnt from some insiders that training could be hands on and the prospect of servicing this sector great.

I have already uploaded my CV. You should consider uploading yours.
Although I noticed one will have to pay caution fee of 1k which is very simple to pay. Just walk into any bank and tell them you want to pay for the Nogicjqs caution fee of 1000 naira using ETranzact. They will collect the money, and generate a confirmation number and receipt number which you will use to activate your account on the NOGIC JQS

I understand with them for this caution fee since they introduced it to prevent abuse because people might start uploading rubbish including porn to their site. I do not think this caution fee will stop that anyway but it may go a long way in dissuading robots from the site.

Please visit their website for more details.

Imagine! Such an interesting subject and no one has deem it fit to comment because it has nothing to do with sex, sudden wealth, etc...so sad!
