Noni Madueke is on the verge of a big move to English giants Chelsea after the London club tabled a €30 offer to PSV Eindhoven on Friday, according to reports.

The opening bid is a verbal proposal, reports Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink.

The Stamford Bridge outfit are in direct contact with PSV for the player, with the Dutch club open to selling at their conditions, reports transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

The clubs have not yet come to an agreement on a fee for the player due to differing valuations and discussions are set to continue, reports David Ornstein of the Athletic.

The British-born Nigerian attacker has played four times for PSV in the Eredivisie this season, scoring one goal.

He arrived at the club from Tottenham in 2018 and has gone on to play in a total of 79 matches, scoring 20 goals and providing 14 assists.

The 20-year-old represented Spurs at only youth level, joining from Crystal Palace, where he played from 2011 to 2014.

PSV manager Ruud van Nistelrooy hopes to keep the England U21 international after Cody Gakpo signed for Liverpool.

“I know [there is interest],” he said.

“I'd rather not, but I don't deny there is much interest in him. This is because of his qualities and performance.

“It's worrisome. We need to see if we can keep him. I very much hope for that. We must do everything we can to do that.

“You also know how things can take off, if the purse strings are pulled hard, then you have to be ready with several options, because we'd be losing a second player in the winter.”

Chelsea have already signed four players this January transfer window, which includes David Datro Fofana, Benoit Badiashile and Andrey Santos, with Joao Felix the latest to arrive at the club.
