Local Rice Vs Foreign Rice:

A Few Weeks Ago; After Undergoing A Realistic Survey on The Production, Processing and Measurement Analysis of Garri from Cassava; We Advanced Our Practical Survey Analysing The Measured Conversions of Paddy Rice To Clean Polished Rice.

About 2 Weeks Ago; Before The Naira Crisis in Nigeria; The Price of A Bushel of Local Rice (Not Stone Free and Unpolished) was 17,000 Naira.

The Same Price for A Bushel of De-stoned and Polished Rice was 19,000 Naira.

For Your Information;

A Bushel of Rice = 25 KG of Rice.

So, it takes 2 Bushels of Rice to Have A 50 KG of Bagged Rice.

So it means;

For The Stone-Free Rice; It will Cost You Only 38,000 Naira to have A 50KG Bag of Rice from Our Rice Mill @ UGEP, Cross-River State.

However; The Cost of 50 KG of Stone-Free Foreign Rice in Lagos, Portharcourt and Other Cities in Nigeria was Flying Over 50,000 Naira.

Price Difference Between Both = 50,000 - 38,000 = 12,000 Naira.

A Whopping 12,000 Naira Difference.

Fast Forward To Today; February 26, 2023:

Due to The Naira Crisis Affecting The Local Farmers in Nigeria; The Price of A Bushel of Local Rice in Nigeria is Presently 14,500 Naira.

The Price has Fallen Drastically with a Price Difference of "3,500 Naira" in just a matter of 2 Weeks from 17,000 Naira.

That is;

A Bushel of Rice which is 25 KG of Rice is presently going for 14,500 Naira.

So, Presently -

It will cost You ONLY 29,000 Naira to Buy Two Bushels of Rice that Makes Up The 50 KG of Local Rice.

Do You Know What The Price of Foreign Rice is pegged at in The Cities Today ?

Well; it still hovers above 45,000 Naira to 55,000 Naira in The Cities.

Check Out To See For Yourself.
