The sole problem is NFF!

Corruption will never allow them put the nation's football as top of their priorities.

Look at yesterday's game for instance, a full team of home based players would have soundly defeated those visitors.

The team’s problem is beyond managerial prowess. Even Sir Alex Ferguson will struggle to take us far
Re: Super Eagles: Is Jose Peseiro The Man To Take Us To The Promised Land? by TheSuperNerd(m): 11:14am On Mar 25, 2023
Peseiro invited 4 MFs. 4 bloody MFs, 3 of which are out of form and he expected something nice.

Picking players based on their club associations instead of club form and their tactical values will eventually come back to backfire.

The man, Jose Peseiro doesn't even recognise that one of the major issues of this team is in the middle game dynamics of the team yet he still calls up a limited midfield.

The man is worse than Rohrbish.

If you think Jose Paseiro is better than our local coaches, then you are a joker. The NFF is so corrupt. They make lots of dollars when they employ a foreign coach than they make from a local coach. Paseiro is wack, very empty.

NFF is the problem, most of the officials are after what they will get and not bothered if Super Eagles win or not.

NFF are not after a coach that will take us to promised Land, rather a coach that will give them their own cut from the contract
Re: Super Eagles: Is Jose Peseiro The Man To Take Us To The Promised Land? by Oladelepsy001(m): 11:29am On Mar 25, 2023
This one can't take super eagles to the promise land, he can only return them to Egypt.

The guy just dey dupe Nigeria of $70,000 monthly

Almost all the African team at the last world cup used indigenous coach except Ghana and here we are still lobbying for a foreign one with nothing to show for it.

As you mentioned, Peseiro has a wealth of experience coaching at the highest levels of international football, including stints with the national teams of Portugal and Tunisia. This experience and expertise will no doubt be invaluable as he works to build a cohesive and competitive squad for the Super Eagles.

At the same time, it's important to remember that coaching is just one piece of the puzzle when it comes to the success of any sports team. The Super Eagles will also need strong leadership, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence from all players, coaches, and staff if they hope to achieve their goals on the international stage.

I believe that with the right combination of talent, strategy, and determination, the Super Eagles have the potential to be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come. And with Peseiro at the helm, there's reason to believe that the team is in good hands.

So let's get behind the Super Eagles and support them as they work to achieve greatness on the pitch. Whether we're cheering from the stands or following along from afar, we can all play a part in helping Nigerian football reach new heights.

Re: Super Eagles: Is Jose Peseiro The Man To Take Us To The Promised Land? by LZAA: 11:43am On Mar 25, 2023
He is not
I agree with your write up but these players are not close to the best we've ever had
The super eagles of the 80's were phenomenal and unmatched
As for the SE coach he will soon leave so it's a no brainer
Pinnick destroyed our domestic league and the results are what you are seeing
And before anybody mentions rohr he was horrible as well

internationalman:
The question is, can Super Eagles ever be close to the promise land if they had Guardiola as coach, Mourinho as assistant, Ancelotti, Klopp and Tuchel among the coaching staff?

Chairman with the above name Football gurus, Nigeria will privatize the world cup the way Realmadrid privatized Champions league.
Re: Super Eagles: Is Jose Peseiro The Man To Take Us To The Promised Land? by humberjade: 11:44am On Mar 25, 2023
The man that rarely spend 2 years on any job as manager before getting fired? Hell no?

He was prolly hired because he agreed to the sharing formula with the corrupt NFF. I was one of those who were against his appointment, but we were shouted down by those who felt he could do some magic with the SE. Give him the Brazilian national team, he would make them a laughibg stock in no distant future.

It depends on the definition of your promised land.

* Is it qualifying for the WC?
* Is it winning the WC?
* Is it qualifying for AFCON?
* Is it winning AFCON?
* Is it getting third position in AFCON and labelling it GOLDEN bronze?

Or is it having South Sudan, Djibouti, Chad, Niger, Sychelles, Burundi, Eswatini as our contemporaries whenever draws are to be made?

So, it all depends.

robosky02:
Once again the super eagles of Nigeria just lost a match not to one of the super powers in Africa like Ghana, Egypt, Senegal or Cameroon but to a lowly ranked team like Guinea-Bissau.

To make matters worse the team has the complement of all the top stars who are currently painting Europe with world class performance.

Needless to say the super eagles recently sacked Genot Rohr and after a brief spell with Eguaveon. The NFF hurriedly brought in Jose Pesiro as the new gaffer

But the question that has been on my mind is can Jose pesiro take the super eagles to the promised land?

This is because Nigeria's current problem is not about having the players because I can say, aside from the Golden Generation the class of 1994 to 1996. The players now are arguably the best Nigeria has ever had. But the problem is we need a good technically sound coach to blend this super stars.

Under Pesaro Nigeria has had the following result

Nigeria. 1. - 2 Algeria

Nigeria. 1 - 2 Mexico

Nigeria. 0-1 Ecuador

Nigeria. 0 - 2. Costa Rica

Nigeria 0 - 4. Portugal

And they have managed only two win against a team even Enyimba will trash

Nigeria vs Sierra Leone (2-1) and

Nigeria vs. Sao Tome and Principe (10-0).

And today Guinea-Bissau. Who we demolished few months ago at the AFCON came here in our backyard... Abuja to claim a famous victory beating us Nigeria. 0 - 1. Guinea-Bissau

If we go back memory lane on Jose Pesaro career we can say he is better than an Amunike

Jose Peseiro has a poor record as manager of national teams.

He was in charge for 17 games as the manager of Saudi Arabia, winning seven, drawing six, and losing four. That’s a win percentage of 35%.

He also failed to qualify the Arab nation for the 2010 World Cup.

For Venezuela, it was worse. One win in 10 games with six losses and three draws.

He was in charge during their disastrous 2021 Copa America outing which had the team eliminated from the group stage after two draws and two defeats.

He resigned in August 2021 over the non-payment of his salaries for a year.

I sincerely believe Nigeria deserves a better coach both at the super eagles and the super falcons level. We have all the materials ,( players ) but what we need is a good coach

The question should be , are the useless players committed to play for Nigeria? Bunch of useless players , who does not take wearing the green white seriously

Except for Victor osimen. Who plays brilliantly . The rest are totally useless ....

Rohr was doing a very good job as super eagles gaffer but these corrupt idots in NFF didn't want the man to rest because of kick back money

He's no different from Gernot Rohr! Sack him now and get Guardiola, Klopp or Naiglesman

The question is: Do they have a promised land to get to? And who made the promise? grin
