lonamy: The mass failure in my opinion was due to the way students depend on past questions to pass exams without getting any depth. There was no loophole as the results imply that many of our graduates are not serious and cannot defend their time spent in formal education. Even if it has been 20 years after graduation a graduate should be ale to defend his degree. |

amor4ce: Well spoken. The results just exposed how poor educational system. Our educational system here encourages us to cram and not to understand that explains why everything vaporises seconds after one finishes his exam. I for one never like cramming, thats why I never came out tops in my class but I'm always having good grades. The only diference between me and that person who came out tops is that if I and that person write the same exam 10 years after, I'll still maintain my good grade but my compatriot will fail woefully. Its high time our educational system emphasised more on understanding the basics rather than repoducing what is writing in the textbook or in the lecturers handouts. Personally I'm of the opinion that our exams should be objective rather than subjective. Theory/essay writing should only be part of continuous assessment but the main exam should be MCQs which sole aim is to test the students creativity and his capability of understanding the basic principles behind every topic/concept. This way we will eliminate bias and victimization on the part of the examiner and also encourage craetive learning among the students 1 Like |

kaimeraone: Anxiety anxiety!!! You are too anxious, don't worry the letters will come. But next time try and read and understand well before you act. Any way. They have completed everything even the supplementary list is finished. I actually don't know what is delaying but I am of the personal opinion, based on the in-house information premise, that the call should be this month and the resumption will be in December/January. But guys keep praying because is not everybody that will be called, according to the statements of the NLders. Have a nice day. |

upengineer: I'm sorry to say this but I don't believe the numerous lies by lonamy. He had made some equivocal statements in the past, His comments are thus no longer credible. The person I still hold in high esteem with regards to the authenticity of his NNPC info is Seynite, its unfortunate that we've not heard from him for a while now. |

Obinoscopy: @ upengineer Below is the lates information I have brethen,im sorry for the delay in getting back to you guys. there is so much work and travelling.ive not sat on a computer for a long time. i cant give much details, but here is the findings. there was much pressure to cancel the process, even phillips consulting admitted to several flaws. however, the credibility and integrity of the GEJ adminstartion and ALLISON MADUEKE involvement will be in jeopardy. at the board meeting to make arrangement towards ladans burial, it was decided to complete the process, and manage effectively the hiccups. ED CS, was mandated to go to the next stage. check nexus alliance ltd, and youll see they have already commeneced trainig arrangements. its coming soon. i wont fight any one for all negative and disparaging comments, we dont have the time, God knows stay blessed @all, what I believe is that we should pray very well. It is well see you all @ NNPC towers on the D day. |

WILL THIS HAVE ANY IMPLICATION ON THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS Nigeria to invest N428.8bn ($2.68bn) in 3 refineries in Indonesia On October 13, 2011 · In News , LAGOS—The federal Government is said to be negotiating an investment of N428.8 billion ($2.68bn) in three refineries deal in Indonesia, South East Asia. The deal if sealed will see the federal government part-owning three refineries in the Far East. The Indonesia Post quoted a top government official as giving the hint of the planned investment by the federal government. This development is coming at a time when government is planning to remove subsidy from petrol and, more so, at a time it is talking about economic transformation and diversification. According to the report, the Indonesia Industry ministry’s director general for manufacturing, Pangah Susanto was quoted by Kompas.com, an online publication in Indonesia as saying that both countries have agreed to build the refineries in Indonesia. Details of the agreement were not released. Nigeria which at the moment produces 2.6 million barrels of crude per day was said to be looking for a partner to refine its crude oil Panggah was quoted as saying. He said that previously, Nigeria wanted the refineries to be built in Nigeria. However, as Indonesia is currently improving its down stream industry, it wanted the refineries built in Indonesia instead of Nigeria. The three refineries are being projected to produce 300 barrel per day and will be used to process crude oil from Nigeria. Indonesia oil firm PT Pertamina will buy the crude oil from Nigeria and process it in Indonesia. Nigeria currently imports most of its petrol as all the local refineries are working far below capacity. Nigeria has an installed crude refining capacity of 445,000 barrels per day but the refining output is insignificant when compared to the national 32 million litres per day consumption. According to the pricing template of the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency as at August 15, 2011, the landing cost of a litre of petrol is N129.21; the margin for transporters and marketers is N15.49; the expected pump price is N144.70; while the official pump price is N65. This means that the FG pays N79.70 as subsidy on each litre of petrol consumed in the country. With about 32 million litres of petrol consumed daily across the country, it also means the government is paying about N2.6bn as subsidy every day, which translates into N18.2bn per week and N72.8bn per month. Importation of petroleum products has been the source of subsidy that has generated controversy over its plan removal by the federal government. Nigerian exports its crude oil and imports finished products. Its crude oil differentials were steady on Tuesday as prices found a temporary floor due to supply glitches in key grades in a market characterised by fading demand. Shell, one of the majors said its force majeure on Nigerian Forcados crude oil exports would be lifted by late October or November if all repair works went to plan. Traders said they expected the force majeure on Forcados to affect no more than 1-2 cargoes, or around 30,000-60,000 bpd. Shell has lifted the force majeure on its Bonny stream, declared on August 23. “On the back of waning demand from the U.S., which saw total crude imports drop by almost 300,000 b/d month-on-month in September, less supply of Forcados may provide a floor, even though a steep drop in Bonny Light shippings was unable to prevent differentials from sliding,” said JBC Energy’s David Wech. Traders said that around 15 tankers for November loading were still reported to be available. They are not really moving. Differentials are suffering a lot because of the weak margins and increasing freight. Also, buyers like Conoco are taking less,” said a West African oil trader. |

Any selection process conducted for nnpc by a consultant like phillipps consulting will usually bring out the best candidates as successful. The problem with that is that some of the top mgt people will not like it. They would want to be able to bring in their wards without merit. I ask you all to pray so that the final results are not manipulated. All this talk about mass failure is rubbish. The questions were easy enough for any true graduate or even ND graduates to do well. |

Obinoscopy: Sorry for the long absence. Though I have not been completely absent cos I have been reading threads related to this recruitment but not contributing. Sorry I cannot give detailed info abt the recruitment because of my company policies. NNPC group HR and the consultants are handling it and thay are doing a great job. The only info I can give to you now is that NNPC is in dare need of u guys(successful candidates) and the recruitment exercise is still on-going and that u won't wait for too long to know ur fate. There will be massive retirement in the next 2-5yrs years and so the corporation needs to train up people to join in the NNPC Wheel of progress. Resumption is very likely to be January(i am not 100% certain o!) . Keep ur fingers crossed. |
