Please a child is having severe cough, what can be given to him either naturally or medically.

How old is the child? And what medication have u tried?
What's the child's oral hygiene like? Do u brush the child or he or she does the brushing? I ask because poor oral hygiene can contribute to such if there is no other underlying cause for the cough.
Ensure u brush the child's tongue deeply and clean everyday. My daughter use to have recurring cough and when I took over brushing, especially the tongue and it's root, the cough disappeared permanently.
