Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has ruled out signing Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, and made use of the metaphor of a little 5 year-old child not being able to get a Ferrari for Christmas because "it's very expensive".

The Reds pulled out of the fight for the English midfielder this week because investing €100 million on just one player could put the team's rebuild in jeopardy.

"I don't have anything to say about it. It's not about Bellingham, it's just I don't understand why we talk about things we can't have. We can't pay €100 million for six players in the summer", Klopp explained in a press conference.

"We're not kids, when you ask a five year-old what they want for Christmas, they say a Ferrari, you'd tell them that it was too expensive and that they can't drive it. They may even get sad because they didn't get their Ferrari. But you've got to work with what you've got. We try to get what we need and what we want, but there are times when we have to accept things and go for something else", the German admitted.
