Nigerian singer and songwriter, Ahmed Ololade, also known as Asake has explained why Yoruba language is an integral part of his music.

He said he loves singing in Yoruba because it is very important to him and there are lots of people who understand the language.

Asake who was speaking in an interview on NewsLive Prime, said he understands music to be a feeling and at times one does not need to understand it to like its usage on a sng.

“Yoruba is so important to me. To me the way I understand music is that it is a feeling”, he said.

The means shall justify the means.
I'm seriously sick, I don't have food, I can't buy drugs, no sibling or family to listen to my plight. I'm alone in a strange land. Who will, in God's name help me?

Yoruba is a beautiful romantic language. A unique Language that has no inflection for past and plural forms. The best language for toasting your wife of 40 years. grin Proud to be born Yoruba. There are millions of Yoruba speaking people.

Organise!

Some of us are wise(APC),but every other person over wise(LP).

Asake is musically creative and he is unique.

I like his play with words and usage of proverbs in his music.

Yea, music itself is a language on its own. You don't need to understand the language used to compose it b4 you love it.

Yoruba language sounds horrible when singing. It's sounds like animals making noise. No offense
Just listen to Seyi vibes
Yoruba sounds very trash on songs

But only asake has been able to make good song with Yoruba. It's still shock me how he does it

Igbo is the best
Igbo sounds sexy and flirty in songs
Listen to Love Nwantiti by C.Kay

Hausa sound kinda cool with their autotune voice

I'm Delta but I love phyno and asake

Edit:
If you all listen to pasuma
You will hate Yoruba language
Trust me
It sounds annoying
With that their talking drum that gives headache while listening.
Only asake has been able to pull it off and make it sound cool.
The others are just making animal noise.

Listen to Osaeebe, Tony 1 week
You will hear flows and rythmn
Compare osadebe hits to that trash pasuma and co are singing. It's like comparing diamond to plastic

No offense
True music lovers understand what I'm saying

Well, in Nigeria, the beats and vibes is what matters not the language.

After all, we all vibed to Awilo years ago and TikTac and VIP from Ghana without understanding what they’re were saying.

Oga, tell your producer to keep killing your songs with beats, nobody cares what language you speak in your music anyways.
