Corporate governance and administration in various countries of the world has contributed immensely to professionalism, excellence and productivity. In Nigeria, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) has not only raised the quality of corporate secretaryship, but entrenched a global standard of administration.

Evolving from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) founded in England in 1891, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, established more than 50 years ago as an associate of the international body was granted autonomy in 1988 and incorporated under the Companies Act of 1968. It became Chartered by Decree 19 of 1991 (Now known as the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria Act CAP I13 LFN 2004).

ICSAN has constantly enhanced the practice of corporate governance and administration in both the public and private sectors, a feat that validates its status as the only professional body authorised in Nigeria to conduct the examinations leading to the qualification of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

In Akwa Ibom State, ICSAN is set on a higher path of history as the investiture of its first female Chairman, Barr (Mrs) Chinonyerem Ini Ememobong, ACIS, beckons. All roads lead to Emerald Event Centre, Uyo, on Tuesday April 25, 2023.
