Killer Wife Accuses Late Husband Of Occultism

Last Friday’s murder of the chairman of Kavex Computers and Communications Limited, Kazeem Ademoye, by his wife of 13 years and mother of his three children, Ngozi Funmi Ademoye has continued to generate ripples with new development cropping up each day. Emergence of New Facts…

It emerged yesterday that after allegedly murdering her husband, Kazeem Ademoye, last week Friday, the suspect, the deceased’s wife, Ngozi, also called Funmi by her in-laws, used her husband’s immediate elder brother in her desperate bid to cover up the heinous act and present the murder as natural death. The deceased’s brother in question named Kunle is said to have mental problems. Spokesman of the Ademoye family, Mr. Adesegun Agbaye, told THISDAY yesterday that efforts are now being made by the family to secure the arrest of the mentally-deranged Kunle. He said Kunle was used as a pawn in the suspect’s chess board. According to him, knowing that Kunle has issues mentally, the suspect chose only him out of the entire family members to collaborate with in her evil plans.




Kunle was the first person called by the suspect to see the corpse of the deceased and it was also Kunle who purportedly escorted her to Ikorodu to secure an ambulance that took Kazeem remains to Bemil Morgue. The murder occurred at the deceased’s residence at No 11 Nwahiri Close, off Aigbokhan Street Magodo. 45-year-old Ademoye was a resident of Magodo and a close door neighbour to Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola’s mother. Fashola’s mother resides at No. 10 of the same street


Meanwhile, THISDAY has also gathered that the remains of the deceased have been taken to the hospital for autopsy to ascertain the real cause of his death and pinpoint the exact time of his death since the suspect claimed she strangled him to death. Efforts to secure the release of the prophet and prophetess that gave the suspect the controversial prophesy alleging that the deceased was an occult member have been intensified. The prophet and prophetess were arrested by the police during the week. It was gathered that although the prophet admitted giving out the holy water and other sundry materials, he claimed he warned her not to take the law into her hands.


Agbaye also disclosed that the police have now recovered the deceased’s missing car. The car, THISDAY gathered, had been missing from the deceased’s compound the day the crime was committed.  Agbaye claimed the suspect had asked the driver to take the car down to the prophet’s place in Ikorodu.


Occultic Accusations and Confession by the Wife…

Ngozi said prior to her discovery of the charms five days before Kazeem’s death, she and her husband had always been one close-knitted and united couple. After 13 years of living as husband and wife, she said the discovery came as a shock and made her to mishandle the entire situation. With the discovery so began her journey to a prophet’s house at Ikorodu. The prophet was said to have been introduced to her by the sister in-law Elizabeth. The prophet purportedly told her that he sensed a dark presence around her that was sucking all her riches. After prayers, she left with a candle and holy water. THISDAY gathered that armed with materials, she had made a previous attempt to cleanse the room but lost her courage only to go back to it on Thursday last week.


On the fateful day, she lit a candle in the middle of the house and sprinkled the holy water around the house before she proceeded to the room where the charms were kept. In the room, she said she found a pot, a bird in a cage, a live tortoise as well as some cowries. She claimed that also in the room was another pot with some feathers and some currency notes from N50, N100 and N1, 000 tied with a red cloth tied around it and a list of names. She also claimed that she saw her name and that of some of her husband’s brothers there. While saying her prayers, Ngozi claimed the cowries and the bird in the cage suddenly disappeared. She said it was then she remembered that Kazeem often used the room on Tuesdays and Thursdays, claiming he wanted to use the internet and that nobody should disturb him. It was one of such Thursdays that Ngozi claimed she did the clean-up which culminated in a fight.


During the fight she was said to have hit him with the UPS and he slumped. However, she said that did not make the deceased to relent in the fight and she was forced to strangle him. She noted that the strangulation was to make him unconscious and not to kill him outright.

Former Claims by the Wife…

THISDAY gathered that the wife had claimed the deceased slumped and died on that fateful day but no reason was given as to why the corpse was left in the house for two days without informing anyone.


Narrating the story to THISDAY, Chief Paul Da Costa, a resident of the Aigbokan Street, said he was informed of the deceased’s death on Saturday. On a courtesy call to the deceased’s residence, he said they were surprised to see the widow sitting calmly at the sofa. She then told them the man had died of a heart attack. When probed, Tunde, the late man’s 15 year-old son, innocently disclosed that he was sleeping when he was woken up by a scream. And when he left their wing to find out what happened, he saw the mum watching television. This time around, the widow was said to have changed her story. She said the husband was an occultist. She claimed the night he died, she had chanced upon him dressed in a red cloth with a live tortoise tied to his chest and a horn in his hand making incantations.


This claim was corroborated by the deceased’s immediate younger brother Kunle but the family dismissed the latter’s story. According to them, their brother is a not mentally developed and as such his claims should be disregarded.


Questions by the Concerned Neighbours…

excited by a sense of responsibility, the residents of the street compiled a series of questions that needed cogent answers to. Among the series of questions compiled by the concerned neighbours were; “Why were the police not called immediately? Why was the immediate family of the deceased not alerted? Why was the body locked up in the room for 24 hours? Why did the son claim his mum was downstairs watching television while the bloody corpse was locked up in the bedroom? Why was the body moved from the floor to the bed by the suspect with the help of the son? Why was his clothes changed? Why did the first visitor to the house claim he saw the dead on the floor with red clothes?


“Who called the ambulance and why was he delayed for 8 hours? Why was the guard given the day off before the incidence? Why did she claim her husband relocated to Ghana and went ahead to collect money from the manager as well as instruct other members of the staff to resign?”

Prior Attempt on the Deceased’s Life…

New facts had emerged that the deceased had an inkling someone was after his life three weeks before his death. This information was made available to THISDAY by the deceased's family at the office of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba. According to them, the deceased had called Jameel his younger brother and one of his friends to tell them of the near death encounter he had at the Old Toll Gate along the Oworonsoki Express Way. The family said Kazeem had told them that an attempt was made on his life that day but he managed to escape. However, the suspect debunked allegations that she had made an attempt on the husband's life three weeks before his death rather she pointed at Jameel, the deceased's younger brother, as the culprit. She went on to say that when her husband was alive; he had on one occasion reported to the police that Jameel made an attempt on his life. She added that Jameel had even boasted to people that he would inherit her husband’s property.


Counter Accusation as Family Trade Blames…

Ngozi lamented that Jameel, the deceased’s younger brother, had always had an eye on the late husband's property even when he was alive and had in times past threatened to kill her husband and take over his wealth. While admitting that her late husband was not close to the family, she lamented that since his death, her in-laws had seized the opportunity to rip her children off the husband’s property. Butressing her point, she said the first thing Jameel asked her for at the morgue was the keys to her husband's properties
To this, the spokesman of the Ademoye family, Agbaye, debunked claims that the family were after the deceased’s wealth. According to him, it was a strategy by the suspect to make them leave the issue at hand. According to him, the issue of Jameel withholding the key to the Magodo residence has been resolved as the family had given the keys of the house back to the suspect. He told the newspaper that when the corpse of their brother was first discovered, the suspect had tried to turn the minds of the neighbours against their family until they discovered the truth. Agbaye told THISDAY that the allegations made by the suspect that Jameel had made an attempt on the deceased’s life three weeks back was all falsehood. He challenged her to come up with an authentic proof to back her claims.


The suspect was said to have gone to the man’s office to pack all the money sold for the day. She also told the office staff to tender their resignation as the deceased had relocated to Ghana and so would not be coming back. Rebuffing such claims that she killed the husband over money, Ngozi said she only collected N14, 000 from the accountant to buy things for the house as it suddenly dawned on her that she had become the man of the house. She claimed that after that she went to withdraw N500, 000 from her own account as she needed the money for mortuary payment, embalming and other expenses that could crop up for the burial of her husband.

Ngozi’s Present Predicament…

During the week, the suspect fell ill and had to be admitted to the SCID clinic for treatment. To claims that the sickness could be a ruse, THISDAY gathered that the suspect has always had an history of high blood pressure and so it was not unusual for her to be treated for such. The newspaper also gathered that since her transfer to Panti on Tuesday, she has refused to take any food. Her refusal to eat is said to have contributed to her ailment coupled with the fact that she had developed high blood pressure. However, as of the time of filing the report, the suspect had regained her strength. She insisted that the murder of her husband was not premeditated as media reports claim. According to the suspect, her present worries lay on thoughts for her children’s future. She said since the unfortunate incident, the husband’s family has never bothered to ask after her three children or how they have coped with the trauma.

What sort of annoyance would have lead her to use UPS on her husband. And she said the death was not pre-meditated.
Although, she's not a good criminal, cos she would have just thrown the man into the river or just find a better way to cover up.

too many confusing story

This is one the things that scares me off marriage. You never know with women. She could be madly in love with you today and tomorrow, all she thinks about are ways to end your life without anyone suspecting. What has happened is a result of too much spirituality and belief in superstition. Women are always inquisitive and looking for solutions in the wrong places. They always want to manipulate their husbands as puppets, they love control and this drives them into the hands of spiritualists. If you have ever observed the abode of a juju doctor, spiritual churches or all these "aladuras", you'll notice that MAJORITY of their "customers" are female (from teenage girls to grandmas) who seek power to control men. Being a non-religious person myself (atheist), the last thing I will tolerate is a woman who chooses to use spiritual means to make me a puppet. I do not believe in its efficacy rather its the motive behind it I cannot forgive. Anyone who seeks means to turn you into a vegetable has no love for you and that's the point.

The fact that she proceeded to strangle him AFTER he was unconscious shows she had premeditated ideas of killing him and being a woman, she acted on that instinct without thinking twice. As if that wasn't bad enough, she went ahead to control his assets and acted as if nothing was wrong. Marriage is definitely NOT something I'm excited about and neither is it something I intend getting into anytime soon. Sometimes, it seems a woman's purpose in life is to shorten the life span of her husband.

the suspect employed somebody, probably, a lover to kill the man. the boy heard a sharp scream, went downstairs immediately and saw his mum watching TV as though everything was normal. this is a sufficient proof that this is a case of premeditated murder and the investigation should prevail on her to give up on the murderer in exchange for a lesser punishement.

Once again, one can see the evil hand of religion and superstition in this tragedy. Is there any evil in this land that is not religiously inspired or as a result of religious manipulation? See how some illiterate and stone age prophet or prophetess has manipulated a woman to murder her loving husband.

If you marry a woman that goes to these extreme Pentecostal Churches or White Garment Churches, then you'll have another Man controlling your wife who claims to be a priest, when all the "prophet" really wants is endless stream of your money.

In a balanced marriage the husband and wife should be able to sit down and discuss with love, mutual respect and consideration all the issues regarding their family, in-laws and friends.

When a wife is consulting an Aladura or so called priest - then it is similar to a love triangle that will lead to problems.
