The problem is that a lot of Nigerian parents lack exposure, and make decisions based on their myopic understanding of events and happenings around them.

If the boy is above 20 he can go ahead and out computer science in his jamb. If he's lucky to gain admission, he should study his course comfortably. That kind of myopic father wouldn't have any idea of what he's son is studying in the university.

Is Fraud the only thing to do and make money on the internet? will he also stop him from using phone too? Since boys use phones for fraud too?

A lot of persons here are abusing the father not acknowledging the fear in the heart of the father. Though there are other better measures the father might have taken but we have to respect what might motivates such and probably inform the father of better alternatives.

Most people here are not familiar with the activities of these recent teenagers or let say gen Z+++. They are only thinking that the father is hindering the child from becoming a computer guru.

These teenagers are soo deperate for money! I can understand adults with responsibilities.....but these guys just want to make quick money and start balling. I have a very close relationship with some of them in public schools in Ibadan and I can tell u that i am very scared of the future. These kids can go to any lenght....they've started visiting Alfas....

If the child must learn how to use the computer, the parents should monitor him so he doesn't deviate from his course. 80% of Nigerian youths are into Fraud and most parents have contributed to this menance

Drama queens and kings......I assure you if the boy truly wants to be a programmer, nothing can stop him but himself! People studied other courses at the university for 4-6 years only to end up doing something completely different.
