Dr. Tola Salau, a former Special Assistant on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education in Lagos State has felicitated fathers on 2023 Fathers Day.

The renowned public figure and education advocate has taken a moment to acknowledge and felicitate all fathers around the world on this special day.

According to Dr. Salau, fathers are crucial to the healthy growth and development of children, particularly in the areas of emotional intelligence and character formation.

In her message, Dr. Adetola Salau commended fathers who have played pivotal roles in the lives of their children, citing the numerous sacrifices they make to ensure that their children have a better life. She also acknowledged the challenges that some fathers may face in fulfilling their responsibilities as fathers, especially in times of economic hardship and social instability.

"Fatherhood is an immense responsibility that comes with great demands, but the rewards are immeasurable," Dr. Salau stated. "As society continues to evolve, so too must the role of fatherhood. Fathers must be encouraged to play an active role in the development of their children and be empowered to be positive role models and mentors."

Dr. Salau further advocated for the inclusion of fathers in conversations around mental health and wellbeing, particularly in developing nations like Nigeria where mental health can be stigmatized. She emphasized the importance of fathers being emotionally available and supportive, factors that are vital to the emotional wellbeing of their children.

In conclusion, Dr. Salau extended warm wishes to all fathers and father-like figures, urging them to continue to play their critical role in society.

"On this special day, let us celebrate fathers and fatherhood, and encourage all fathers to be the best they can be in nurturing and supporting their children.

"With this, we celebrate all fathers and wish them a Happy Father's Day," Dr. Salau said.
