Capital Punishment Crimes In The Bible by AntiChristian: 5:19pm On Jun 26, 2023
1) Capital Punishment Crimes:

Kill People Who Don’t Listen to Priests
Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)

Kill Witches
You should not let a sorceress live. (Exodus 22:17 NAB)

Kill Homosexuals
“If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives.” (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)

Kill Fortunetellers
A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death. (Leviticus 20:27 NAB)

Death for Hitting Dad
Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death. (Exodus 21:15 NAB)

Death for Cursing Parents
1) If one curses his father or mother, his lamp will go out at the coming of darkness. (Proverbs 20:20 NAB)

2) All who curse their father or mother must be put to death. They are guilty of a capital offense. (Leviticus 20:9 NLT)

Death for Adultery
If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)

Death for Fornication
A priest’s daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death. (Leviticus 21:9 NAB)

Death to Followers of Other Religions
Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. (Exodus 22:19 NAB)

Kill Nonbelievers
They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)

Kill False Prophets
If a man still prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall say to him, “You shall not live, because you have spoken a lie in the name of the Lord.” When he prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall thrust him through. (Zechariah 13:3 NAB)

Kill the Entire Town if One Person Worships Another God
Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. “The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him.” (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)

Kill Women Who Are Not Virgins On Their Wedding Night
But if this charge is true (that she wasn’t a virgin on her wedding night), and evidence of the girls virginity is not found, they shall bring the girl to the entrance of her fathers house and there her townsman shall stone her to death, because she committed a crime against Israel by her unchasteness in her father’s house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst. (Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB)

Kill Followers of Other Religions.
1) If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB)

2) Suppose a man or woman among you, in one of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, has done evil in the sight of the LORD your God and has violated the covenant by serving other gods or by worshiping the sun, the moon, or any of the forces of heaven, which I have strictly forbidden. When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then that man or woman must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death. (Deuteronomy 17:2-5 NLT)

Death for Blasphemy
One day a man who had an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father got into a fight with one of the Israelite men. During the fight, this son of an Israelite woman blasphemed the LORD’s name. So the man was brought to Moses for judgment. His mother’s name was Shelomith. She was the daughter of Dibri of the tribe of Dan. They put the man in custody until the LORD’s will in the matter should become clear. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Take the blasphemer outside the camp, and tell all those who heard him to lay their hands on his head. Then let the entire community stone him to death. Say to the people of Israel: Those who blaspheme God will suffer the consequences of their guilt and be punished. Anyone who blasphemes the LORD’s name must be stoned to death by the whole community of Israel. Any Israelite or foreigner among you who blasphemes the LORD’s name will surely die. (Leviticus 24:10-16 NLT)

Kill False Prophets
1) Suppose there are prophets among you, or those who have dreams about the future, and they promise you signs or miracles, and the predicted signs or miracles take place. If the prophets then say, ‘Come, let us worship the gods of foreign nations,’ do not listen to them. The LORD your God is testing you to see if you love him with all your heart and soul. Serve only the LORD your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him. The false prophets or dreamers who try to lead you astray must be put to death, for they encourage rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of slavery in the land of Egypt. Since they try to keep you from following the LORD your God, you must execute them to remove the evil from among you. (Deuteronomy 13:1-5 NLT)

2) But any prophet who claims to give a message from another god or who falsely claims to speak for me must die.’ You may wonder, ‘How will we know whether the prophecy is from the LORD or not?’ If the prophet predicts something in the LORD’s name and it does not happen, the LORD did not give the message. That prophet has spoken on his own and need not be feared. (Deuteronomy 18:20-22 NLT)

Infidels and Gays Should Die
So God let them go ahead and do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies. So they worshiped the things God made but not the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever. Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relationships with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men and, as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly deserved. When they refused to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their evil minds and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, fighting, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They are forever inventing new ways of sinning and are disobedient to their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, and are heartless and unforgiving. They are fully aware of God’s death penalty for those who do these things, yet they go right ahead and do them anyway. And, worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. (Romans 1:24-32 NLT)

Kill Anyone who Approaches the Tabernacle
For the LORD had said to Moses, ‘Exempt the tribe of Levi from the census; do not include them when you count the rest of the Israelites. You must put the Levites in charge of the Tabernacle of the Covenant, along with its furnishings and equipment. They must carry the Tabernacle and its equipment as you travel, and they must care for it and camp around it. Whenever the Tabernacle is moved, the Levites will take it down and set it up again. Anyone else who goes too near the Tabernacle will be executed.’ (Numbers 1:48-51 NLT)

Kill People for Working on the Sabbath
The LORD then gave these further instructions to Moses: ‘Tell the people of Israel to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you forever. It helps you to remember that I am the LORD, who makes you holy. Yes, keep the Sabbath day, for it is holy. Anyone who desecrates it must die; anyone who works on that day will be cut off from the community. Work six days only, but the seventh day must be a day of total rest. I repeat: Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death.’ (Exodus 31:12-15 NLT)

Your obsession with old testament doctrines is becoming pathological and very disturbing.
Did any Christian ever told u they follow the mosaic law. Even Jews whom the laws are meant for don't follow it anymore...
But u and your fellow Muslims...
If u guys are not looking for who to rape, u looking for someone to kill.
No wonder you are proud follower of your prophet saying....

These are surah from the Qur'an, the question is do u follow them....

4:89 They wish you would disbelieve, as they disbelieved, so you would be alike. So do not take from among them allies, until they emigrate for the cause of Allah. But if they turn away, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and take not from among them any ally or helper.

Remember thy Lord inspired the angels: "I am with you:
give firmness to the Believers: I will instill terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers:
smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them."

Yeah, the old testament was also inspired by your LORD right?

Yeah, the tithe you pay comes from the old testament! Stop telling lies here!

I didn't ask you about the Qur'an, I asked about the Bible!

How did your God/Jesus/Holy spirit change drastically from horror and fatality to being peaceful?

Was Jesus the prince of peace available then?

Go and read the definition of covenant.

God relate with his people based on the promise in his established covenant with them.
Our covenant is in Jesus and has summarised all old laws into 2. Christians are not bound by old testament laws.

Regarding tithing 1. It's not a must, it's not a requisite to inherit eternal life. 2. Jesus mentioned tithe in the new testament thus it's still valid. 3. If u must tithe, it should not be by compulsion or cohesion; it must be willing and from your heart. Otherwise u doing charitable work to your church and pastor.

So Jesus lied when he said:

When did Jesus abolish the old testament laws? Abi na Paul help you abolish them?

1. Tell that to the Church that have been collecting it to refund all they've collected! 2. Abeg where did Jesus mention tithe and what amount or %age did Jesus mention? 3. Where did this rule come from Jesus?

Abeg holy spirit truths only no lies without evidence from your Bible!

You must first understand that every country has laws, some of which bring capital punishments when broken.

These laws were instituted during Israel's formative years. They were meant to serve as deterrent to anyone who would despise the God of Israel with whom they already have a covenant.. God would keep His own part of the covenant, and anyone who breaks the covenant must suffer severe consequences. Those laws are punishments for breaking the covenant.

However, before anyone can be condemned, he must first be tried in a competent court of law. All cases would first be tried before a judge, where there must be at least two or more witnesses to testify that indeed the individual has committed a crime. Every country has laws that make certain actions become criminal. The breaking of such laws can lead to capital punishments. This was the case with the Theocratic state of Israel. The difference is that these punishments were made as a consequence of breaking the law and the covenant. Covenant breaking is a serious crime.

This is different from the Islamic command by Mohammed that allows any Muslim anywhere to go on rampage and kill unbelievers because he or she is not serving Allah. Meanwhile there's no covenant between the individual and Allah. Note that the laws were applicable to Israelite alone. It was not meant for none-Israelites with whom God had no covenant.

God saw that the people were so stubborn and were never deterred but instead became law breakers and were consistently being guilty of those crimes. He had to abolish the law. Meanwhile, the law was actually introduced to show man that no matter the consequences attached to sin, man cannot help himself. He'll sin and still suffer the consequences contrary to his will. God used those laws to show man his weaknesses with regards to sin. Sin is not man's mate. Therefore, Jesus Christ to the rescue.

John 1:17:
"For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ."

The law has already fulfilled its purpose - to show man that no matter the consequences that follow sin, no matter how easily avoidable the sin may be, man is still powerless against sin. He needs Grace. Mere willpower cannot help him; and that Grace is in Christ Jesus.

Where did you get all these from? When God killed Onan for not releasing sperm appropriately into his brother's wife, how many witnesses was there? Why do you tell lies?

This is different from the Islamic command by Mohammed that allows any Muslim anywhere to go on rampage and kill unbelievers because he or she is not serving Allah. Meanwhile there's no covenant between the individual and Allah. Note that the laws were applicable to Israelite alone. It was not meant for none-Israelites with whom God had no covenant.

The verses are up there, Kindly show us the difference if not that it is super-worse in the Bible!
Moses even killed all the males and non-virgin females and left thousands of virgins for themselves in Numbers 31:17-18
I have never seen where virgins from booty were reserved for God as in Numbers 31:40!

When Jesus came they were still stubborn! What was Jesus doing when God was busy killing?
It was really terror throughout the Old Testament! Where was Jesus?
God get sword!
“You Ethiopians will also be slaughtered by my sword,” says the LORD. Zephaniah 2:12

It always amazes me how many times this God orders the killing of innocent people even after the Ten Commandments said Thou shall not kill. For example, God kills 70,000 innocent people because David ordered a census of the people (1 Chronicles 21).

God also orders the destruction of 60 cities so that the Israelites can live there. He orders the killing of all the men, women, and children of each city, and the looting of all of value (Deuteronomy 3). He orders another attack and the killing of all the living creatures of the city: men and women, young, and old, as well as oxen sheep, and asses (Joshua 6). In Judges 21 He orders the murder of all the people of Jabesh-gilead, except for the virgin girls who were taken to be forcibly raped and married. When they wanted more virgins, God told them to hide alongside the road and when they saw a girl they liked, kidnap her and forcibly rape her and make her your wife!

Just about every other page in the Old Testament has God killing somebody! In 2 Kings 10:18-27, God orders the murder of all the worshipers of a different god in their very own church! In total God kills 371,186 people directly and orders another 1,862,265 people murdered

The God of the Bible also allows slavery, including selling your own daughter as a sex slave (Exodus 21:1-11), child abuse (Judges 11:29-40 & Isaiah 13:16), and bashing babies against rocks (Hosea 13:16 & Psalms 137:9). This type of criminal behavior should shock any moral person.

Why not quote the scripture verses about sex slaves, dashing babies against rocks and the false claims of crimes you made? Quote out the verses, let everyone know you're a liar. And since you intend to derail your own thread, we'll engage you.

The 60 cities that were destroyed were abominable to God. They practiced sodomy and roasted their children alive putting them in hot pots on fire as sacrifices to Molech their god. God gave them more than 500yrs to repent. He told Abraham that if they don't repent, He'll replace them with Abraham's children:

"Your children shall come back here in the fourth generation, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete” (Gen. 15:16).

Abraham had died 500yrs ago, the Amorites were still doing their abominations. They were Giants and very many. God used short people (Israelites are short people) who are very few in number to dislodge Giants that were much more numerous than them. You should fear a God who can bring judgement on anyone using any instrument He has, no matter how little or how insignificant it may be. The Israelites were insignificant people to those Giants, but when God is in judgement, no one can stand against Him. Even you antichristian would be judged someday by the Almighty God, and that day, even Mohammed or Allah would not be able to save you. Molech could not save the numerous Giants who worshipped him against a small contingent of dwarfs who came against them. Shame on them.

All those Moses killed are victims of war when Israel was creating its nationhood. As I have noted above, the war was a war of judgement against those Giants who practiced sodomy and bloodshed in their own land.
Nations wage wars during their formative years. Israel was not exempted. Moses fought wars against iniquitous enemy nations.

The people of Jabeshgilead were Israelites. You cannot decide for God how to deal with His own people when they commit abominations in His own land. He already gave the law and the warnings. Let them face the consequences of their actions which they themselves already know before commiting the crime. He told them explicitly that if the commit any of those crimes those Giants He used them to dislodge commit, He'll give them more severe punishments than those Giants suffered. A God of justice. No partiality.

Ever before giving them the land, He gave them the laws to keep there. They had the right to reject the law and the land. If they've accepted the land, then, they must abide by the law or face the consequences.

Judges sentence people to be killed, meanwhile the law forbids murder. Can you balance that? Your rant about God saying some people should be killed when He said thou shalt not kill is just too immature.

There were capital punishment for Israelites who disobeyed God. Especially those who serve other gods, breaking the covenant they have with God. God gave them that land they possess. If they'll serve other gods, they must go and serve it in the land given to them by that god. It's justice for such person who tramples God under foot on God's land to be punished with capital punishment. It's a grievous sin. He already gave the law before hand. Anyone who breaks it deliberately did so, knowing what he was signing up for.

That's different from Allah who sends Muslims to ambush and kill unbelievers who have no dealings whatsoever with him. Allah can't save. Neither can he kill. He needs Muslims to kill for him. Meanwhile, he never sent them to save anybody. Allah can't save. He didn't even give Muslims any guarantee. The only job he has for them is to help him kill. And for that he'll give them 72 virgins to enjoy when they die. Hilarious!!

God judges some cases by Himself. He doesn't give man the power to execute judgement in some cases. That's the Onan case. Similar cases abound in the Bible. Can you show me cases in your Quran where Allah judged anyone by himself? He only uses the swords of men. He has no sword of his own. So, he cannot be a judge. A god that cannot judge people on earth cannot judge people in heaven. That's a false god.

You're now derailing your own thread, talking about issues that are not contained in your OP. Meanwhile, you're just enraged. Why not continue to engage in the same line of argument you raised? I'm sorry for you.

God is both Judge and Saviour. In the Old Testament, He fully demonstrated Himself as Judge. In the New Testament, He demonstrates Himself as Saviour through Jesus Christ.

Create a thread about the false sex slavery issue you raised. God never supported sex slavery in the Bible. Mohammed was a sex maniac who killed a man in order to marry his wife. He even snatched the wife of his own son and received a revelation from Allah to justify his own folly.

Which did you answer you liar!

Everything has been answered above,or do you want to be spoon-fed?

I'll repeat in summary: God made the laws before giving them the land. They had a covenant with God, and knew the consequences for breaking the laws.

It is just for God to punish them the same way He has punished those who He used them to dislodge for the same sins. A just God.

He gave them rules. Entered into a covenant with them, then gave them the land on the basis of that agreement. They have every reason to obey the law or bear the consequences. The Jews themselves cannot complain. Do you want to complain on their behalves?

Yes your God has changed! He's no more brutal as before is He?

You should start that on your thread!
Assuming you lived in the OT, you or some members of your families would have been killed by now!

But you can't justify any of these killings and you just wish to divert!
LOL!

It is Allah Who changed from one who judged sin especially by his prophets eg David but later justify sin by his only prophet Mohammed!

It is Allah Who changed by not condoning sin especially by his prophets to one who give indulgence to sin to his only prophet Mohammed.

The Laws of Moses in the old testament are a mixture of
Civil Laws
Religious Laws
Health Laws
Temple Laws etc

For the CHILDREN of ISRAEL: the laws were not applicable to non Israelites or OUTSIDE Israel. The Laws are a product of COVENANT between God and Israel with consequences for violations.

So, to your Question :
Assuming I lived in the OT, you or some members of my families, God would have ignored me to a Large Extent as me nor my people never signed any AGREEMENT/COVENANT with God!

This is why the Time of Jesus is called NEW TESTAMENT applicable to the Whole WORLD!

Not withstanding : will you now answer my questions.

1. Is capital punishment Halal or Haram in ISLAM?

2. Is this Hadith below a Lie?
Sunan an-Nasa'i 4059
Ibn 'Abbas said:
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Whoever changes his religion, kill him."

Where was covenant mentioned in the Bible?

So Jesus lied when he said:

New Living Translation
“Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.

I think others have answered some of the questions u raised here.
However just to reiterate that the old testament laws are the laws governing the affairs of a single nation called Israel. The law is not even applicable to other ancient civilization of those time.
If any of those nations enter a covenant with God, he will give them their own laws and commandments applicable and practicable to their way of life.
The whole concept of the old testament laws was to build a godly nation by ensuring the people follow all the laws. The repercussions for disobedience or breaking a single law is very dire and costly in order to deter people from breaking the laws and to ensure they live in holiness. The harsh laws was also meant to discourage foreign nations disturbing Israel.

The new covenant is the one for the whole world. It didn't abolish the old covenant but perfected it in Jesus Christ by summarising it into 2 laws.

29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[c] There is no commandment greater than these.”

The whole of the 613 old testament is summarised in the 2 laws which is perfected in Jesus.
So if u follow Jesus Christ, u keeping the commandment.

Your answer on tithe...
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.” mat 23.23

Stop speaking lies. The Law Said so many times "One Law shall be for the stranger and for them"

Everyone knows that Law is set by God the bible was what He used to lay it all down, so even, do not steal or kill without just cause, and that everyone accused of a crime should be judged fairly is also there.

I want to believe u mean this....

14 For the generations to come, whenever a foreigner or anyone else living among you presents a food offering as an aroma pleasing to the Lord, they must do exactly as you do. 15 The community is to have the same rules for you and for the foreigner residing among you; this is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. You and the foreigner shall be the same before the Lord: 16 The same laws and regulations will apply both to you and to the foreigner residing among you.’”

U will do well to ready my comment very well and comprehend b4 jumping into ignorance. My comment has nothing to do with these verses.

Saying the old testament law is binding on all nations is ignorance.
So if God establish his covenant with a nation that do not practice slavery, will he introduce it.
If a nation that do not practice monogamy embraces God, will God push their men into it?
because the 2 practices are definitely in the mosaic law.
This how some of u get stuck when debating apologetics or atheist.

No. This is supposed to be in your bible
Exodus 12:49
The same law shall apply to the native as to the stranger who sojourns among you.”

Leviticus 24:22
There shall be one standard for you; it shall be for the stranger as well as the native, for I am the Lord your God.’”

This is where you learn why a yoruba man is a bini man and bound by benin law. Olowu vs. Olowu.

It is called allegiance and personal law and law of domicile which is why Kanu in nigeria is claiming jew and british citizen.

Which is why many are nigerians yet they live and behave like Americans and unlike America, God Says by this Law He would recognize them as His citizens. Its as simple as that.

He does not need to burn down a nation for their people to become His citizens.

Sincerely I really don't understand your point.
A Yoruba man living in Bini must follow bini custom and an American living in Nigeria must follow Nigerian law.
Everybody knows that, and that's what God instructed foreigners living in Israel to do.

My point is regarding the other ancient nations...Moabites, Phoenicians, Persians, Assyrians, Egyptian etc.
If they turn to God in their OWN COUNTRY and God establish his covenant with them, will he give them the mosaic law as their constitution, will God instruct them to follow the whole 613 ordinances in the mosaic law?
That's my question?

Go and read the Olowu case and learn something you will never know.

The reason why in America you can not be convicted for polygamy is because you are a Nigerian. But an American who marries 2 wives in nigeria or elsewhere will be guilty of polygamy even in the American embassy anywhere, not to talk of landing in America.

That is how The Law works whether you learn it or not.

And God has Said it
Leviticus 24:22
There shall be one standard for you; it shall be for the stranger as well as the native, for I am the Lord your God.
