Some days ago, the FG said it would stop subsidizing funds to professional organizations...

Is this a good thing? In my opinion I would say no.

Let's take a doctor for example. For a doctor to practice, he/she has to pay annual dues according to years of service to NMA or other group.

Maybe it was 10K before, now it might go as high as 50k/100k per year.... Now who do you think will bear the brunt? Of course the patients... Professional services charges will also skyrocket.... And we don't have free medical healthcare as it is now.

Also Engineers, that pay 10k to COREN might go up to 50/70K... And these will also affect the quacks that are not registered, as no engineer will be paying high and not seek to stop road side mechanics from operating without License.

So please this is an appeal, please pity the poor masses, even though we don't pity ourselves..... Except there's a plan to increase wages or programs to alleviate all these subsidy removal..


Government should please think it through

The licensing bodies will now charge the schools high rate to license their students, meaning higher school fees too.

I never knew government was subsidizing these professional bodies before.

But removing this subsidy will affect many people o... Many roadside mechanics will close shop as they are not registered 😬
