A four-storey building under construction in the Lifecamp area of Abuja in the Federal Capital Territory has reportedly collapsed, with many feared trapped under its rubbles.

The incident occurred at about 4 pm while workers were on the construction site in the swampy Dape Area near the Berger Clinic.

Officials of the FCT Fire Service and the National Emergency Management Agency are reportedly at the site of the collapse to rescue victims from the collapsed building.

Meanwhile, the Head of Operations of the FCT Fire Service, Amiola Adebayo, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent, said rescue operations were still ongoing and could not yet confirm any casualties from the incident.

⏩The FCTA staff are picked not on merit but as a reward system as in other employments, by top government officials.

⏩The government are elected not on merit but along tribal lines and religious sentiments.


⏩The government turn on the people giving them crumbs to survive on.

⏩ Then they micro manage to build houses using cheap materials and hungry contractors. Then back to my first point.

That is the viscous circle birthing all these incessant shortfalls in standard.🔁🔄

Once again a country is a reflection of it's leadership and the leadership a reflection of the ordinary man on the street.

I usually tell people that too many high rise building in Nigeria are not safe, especially the ones built by individuals.
Many will still fall in the future an people will be killed. You can't go and hire anyhow engineer to build a house for you and expect it to stand the test of time.

Blame corruption and cutting corners.

If you haven't built a house, you will not understand.

If you want to build, pls employ somebody who will be your eye and ear if you won't be there physically and pay the person generously. Better than had I known.

If you can spend millions to buy land in life camp, why not ensure you use quality building materials
