The Singaporean Government has been diligently working towards creating a fully functional car-lite society since 2014. Over the past eight years, they have achieved success in transforming certain areas, such as One-North, Springleaf, Marina South, Bayshore, Woodlands Central, Pearl's Hill, and Tanjong Rhu, into car-lite zones. Their focus now includes plans for developing the Jurong Lake District, which promises to be a true car-lite haven in Jurong East.

While micro-mobility devices like bicycles and e-scooters have gained popularity, the town centers are primarily designed to prioritize pedestrian and cyclist mobility. This approach ensures seamless connections between commuters' homes, MRT stations, bus interchanges, nearby shopping malls, and schools. However, it may take some time for Singaporeans to shift their mindset and view vehicles as a potential threat to the environment rather than a symbol of personal worth.

Only when this perspective shift occurs, and the car-lite vision is seen as "cool," will it gain widespread acceptance as a preferred way of life.
