The public has been informed about a new kidnapping technique by the police in Delta State, South-South Nigeria.

Kidnappers may use a tricycle to intentionally hit a car in order to lure the occupants out, according to Delta State police spokesperson Bright Edafe, who posted the alert on his Twitter page on Monday.

"Let's be cautious, especially when driving, out there. According to Mr. Edafe, a deputy superintendent of police, "On July 29, 2023, the kidnapped victim noticed that a tricycle had struck (his) car from behind. He went outside to investigate only for the keke's occupants to shoot him and take him away in his own car.

He claimed that the alleged kidnappers made their victim send a ransom of N700,000 to them.

At a road junction, the suspects were waiting for more money from their victim when a police patrol team conducting a stop-and-search operation stopped and searched them, according to Mr. Edafe.

The victim who was wearing a blindfold was freed after they attempted to flee by jumping out of the car, according to the police spokesperson, who did not provide any additional information about the victim.

Mr. Edafe posted images of the dead suspect, the found car, and the rifle on Twitter.

Yet another ruse
A fresh egg was thrown at the windscreen of an unidentified man's car while he was driving, according to a video clip trending on several WhatsApp groups.

If he had turned on his windscreen wiper, the fluid from the egg, according to the man, would have spread to every area of the windscreen, blurred the windscreen, and prevented him from continuing to drive.

He claimed to have continued driving until he arrived at a spot he considered to be secure.

In the two minutes and 28 seconds of the video, the man speaks in Pidgin English. "Nobody knows whether dem be kidnappers or thieves.
